Koorie Unit
Who they are
The Koorie Unit is responsible for supporting the education needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children throughout Victoria. The unit sits in the Department of Education.
Our work with them
We were invited to co-design a wellbeing people leadership program by the Koorie unit. The goal was to marry traditional psychological and leadership content and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural concepts and ideas.
We developed the content for the program (see some concepts that were covered on the next page) through a co-design process with a dedicated group from the Koorie unit, before co-delivering a pilot program with a cohort of people leaders in late 2020.
Impact
The program was well received by participants and, at the time of writing in January, 2021, we are working with senior leaders from the Koorie unit around next steps in the process.
