Mental Health and Wellbeing Series

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Series is a selection of interventions designed to support senior leaders and directors, leaders of teams, and individuals to better understand how to effectively invest in their own wellbeing.

Mental ill-health is an ever-growing challenge in the workplace.

Employee mental health is an important Board risk area that requires planning, measurement and management under a specific strategy in the same way as other areas of the business.

One in five people will experience a mental illness this year, with one in two of us experiencing mental ill-health at some point in our lives.

Mental ill-health is a significant societal challenge, which is further impacted by the change and uncertainty which characterises the modern working environment.

A Productivity Commission report on mental health in 2020 estimated that absenteeism and presenteeism, caused by mental ill-health, is costing Australian businesses between $13 billion and $17 billion annually, and yet most organisations are still dealing with this challenge through very reactive means (e.g. referring people to their Employee Assistance Program).

A more proactive approach, which recognises the role of the leader, the design of work and the organisational culture in influencing people's mental health and wellbeing, is required to best support people in today's working world.

Our solutions focus on how organisations can best meet their duty of care requirements, whilst also fostering a mentally healthy workplace culture. We also focus on the key role that wellbeing plays in today's working world, and how people with high levels of psychological wellbeing tend to be more productive, engaged employees.
